Jodi Huisentruit was a news anchor in Mason City, Iowa. The last known contact with her was a phone call at 4:10 a.m. on June 27, 1995: she had overslept, and she told her producer she'd be right in. She never arrived.
When police performed a welfare check outside her apartment, they quickly realized they were dealing with “unusual circumstances.” Her belongings were scattered on the ground near her car, and she has been missing ever since. Everything the case has to work with comes from one small scene: dress shoes, a hair dryer, hair spray, and a set of car keys on the ground beside her car. Jodi was taken from outside her own apartment, in the narrow window between her producer's calls and the welfare check. No one has ever been charged.
