World Tour is built around replicas of famous holes, which makes it a strange and generous place to restart a game. Every tee box arrives with a story attached, and the story does a lot of the work of keeping a rusty round from feeling like an audit. As a place to play, it is theatrical, wide, and forgiving enough in the landing areas that a drive leaking right still ends up somewhere you can find it.

As a place to get better, it is honest about one thing only: whether the ball gets airborne. There is no launch monitor, no coach, no number to argue with. What it gave was the baseline. A couple of clean strikes, a consistent push off the tee, and enough open air for both to sit side by side without ruining the day.

The lasting value was the format. Best ball with Blaine and Caleb meant every decent shot mattered and no bad one did. If a first round back is supposed to make you want a second, this one did its job in a single afternoon.
